This
dark dining room off the entrance hall was brought to life by changing the small
window for French doors (which do not open), with a small iron gallery on the
exterior overhanging the driveway. The addition of recessed lighting, plaster
cornice molding, an antique French chandelier and soft wall glazing create a whole
new ambiance. The chairs are reproduction, in an antique paint finish, upholstered
in damask with French nails. The dining table was made from scratch using four
found iron legs, adding iron stretchers with finial and custom oak parquet table
top. We kept the owners original marble topped side board but applied moldings,
antique paint finish, and new hardware.
